My artwork is inspired by wildlife and the illusion of movement.  Rather than depicting an exact likeness of the subject, I strive to capture its essence and a sense of motion.  Although my works are often made of rigid materials such as bronze, stainless steel or ceramic, the feeling of motion is what I attempt to portray.  I describe my approach as a stylized realism.  I believe blurring the line between realism and abstract encourages the viewer to use his or her imagination while still connecting with the piece in a familiar and identifiable way.
